JOB DESCRIPTION: MANAGING DIRECTOR WORLD CONGRESS OF FAMILIES

This person serves as the chief operating officer of the World Congress of Families (WCF) project.  Specific tasks include:

• Aggressively promoting the WCF among “Partners” and other NGO’s around the globe

• Drafting Requests for Proposals for future WCF sessions

• Assisting “bidding” groups in the preparation of their proposal

• Planning and organizing all Management, Selection and Planning committee sessions

• Serving as the chief WCF liaison with the “international planning” and “local organizing” committees of pending WCF sessions

• Promoting the WCF through news releases and media interviews

• Maintaining and enhancing the WCF website

• Publishing the monthly WCF electronic newsletter

• Raising the funds needed to meet the WCF annual budget, including the preparation of grant proposals for foundation, corporate, and individual funding and making visits to donors

• Drafting the annual WCF operating budget and insuring that spending stays within budget

• Performing other tasks necessary to the success of the WCF program

This person will report to the International Secretary of the WCF

This person will supervise the WCF Administrative Assistant and retained consultants
